The heart of My Potential International Mentoring Program is the relationship between our mentors and mentees. High school juniors and seniors dedicate time each week to guide, support, and befriend younger students. This bond provides encouragement, academic support, and friendship that lasts beyond the classroom.
We are proud to award senior scholarships to students who are dedicated to helping their communities and pursuing careers in law or medicine. These scholarships recognize young leaders who are committed to service and academic excellence.
Our students participate in enriching experiences designed to inspire leadership and growth:
On a field trip, one new immigrant 9th grade boy stated, " This is the happiest day of my life".
Hosted at Fordson High School, this forum addresses the dangers of reckless driving. Led by Principal Chadi Farhat, who will discuss the entire story of the young female student who was run over by a reckless driver, with Sergeant McCoy providing statistics on traffic violations and accidents, the event highlights the devastating consequences of unsafe driving. The forum also features Dr. Ghulam Qadir, M.D. Psychiatrist, co-owner of Apex Behavioral Health, who speaks on the emotional toll accidents take on families and communities.
Our program pairs elementary school students with caring, compassionate adults who read to them in a warm, supportive environment. We believe that every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and encouraged and that reading can be a powerful way to build confidence, connection, and love for books.
Starting January of 2026, My Potential International will expand their program to middle schools in the community.
